Jo Robinson explains why small buses like the W12 are needed

A consultation on rerouting the W12 bus away from Orford Road ended on 30th July and TfL says that using larger buses and increasing the service to 4 buses an hour is an improvement.
However, smaller buses contribute to getting people out of their cars, they encourage more local shopping and they help many who may not be able to walk 500 yards to the nearest bus stop.
Small buses are needed on side streets such as Walthamstow Village or for trips to Wood Street market. Using school trip vehicles during shopping hours would also be a good use of buses.
