Walthamstow Post Office moving… next door

The old Post Office will close on 11th June and the new one opens on 22nd June

Walthamstow’s Post Office is moving soon, although only to the building next door.

The Post Office at 242-244 Hoe Street will close at 3.30pm on Sunday, 11th June, and reopen in 240 Hoe Street at 1pm on Thursday, 22nd June.

Post Office explained that the move is because the lease for its current home is expiring and reassured residents that the new branch will still have a staffed retail counter, in addition to three automatic screens.

In the period between the old branch closing and the new one opening, customers are advised to use alternative nearby branches in Forest Road or High Street, Walthamstow.

Jason Collins, from Post Office, said the company is “delighted to be safeguarding” its offer in Walthamstow “as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.”

The relocated Walthamstow Post Office will have the same opening hours as the current branch.

Customers can give their views until 27th June by visiting postofficeviews.co.uk and entering the branch code 204002.
