A crime scene is in place after a man was found dead on Leyton Flats this morning.

Police were called to the green space in Leytonstone at around 8.30am and found an “unresponsive” man.

He was later pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Police are currently working to locate his next of kin.

His death is currently being treated as “unexplained”, a Met spokesperson confirmed, and a post-mortem will take place later this week.
