A major builders’ merchant has relocated one of its East London branches to a brand new and larger site in Leytonstone.

Travis Perkins has moved its branch from Stratford to Joseph Ray Road in Leytonstone, around two-and-a-half miles from its previous location on Rick Roberts Way.

The new branch covers almost three acres – more than three times the size of the former site – and includes a new showroom from kitchen supplier Benchmarx Kitchens & Joinery, as well as an expanded tool hire service.

The branch stocks a wide range of building materials for local tradespeople such as timber, insulation, aggregates, bricks and blocks, alongside landscaping supplies.

Regional director Daniel McCafferty said the larger site would allow the company to expand its offering to tradespeople in East London.

“At our previous location in Stratford we were a popular branch, but the move to this new site opens a much greater opportunity to service tradespeople in the heart of East London,” he said.

“All the dedicated team from the previous branch have moved over, and we have also created new roles, bringing the team to 34.”

Branch manager Daniel Rossiter said the larger space meant the branch could stock a wider range of materials to meet demand from local construction projects.

“With the size of the new location it has allowed us to stock a huge range of products in great quantities.

“It makes us the perfect partner for local tradespeople.”

As part of the opening, the company donated £1,000 to the Alzheimer’s Society, its nominated charity.
