An Armenian chef will open a residency at Signature Brew Blackhorse Road from Thursday, 19th February.

Chef Oli, who has Armenian roots, started Sireli after becoming good friends with fellow chef Mick, who had helped to launch businesses such as Deeney’s in Leyton and Ace Pizza in Hackney.

Sireli started in Leytonstone, within Filly Brook, having a two-year residency there, before moving to the National Theatre, Corner Corner in Canada Water and now Signature Brew Blackhorse Road.

Guests will be able to choose from ‘Taste of Armenia’ sharing platters, a selection of hot and cold mezze, including muhammara, house pickles, hummus dolmas and flatbread and opt for veg (halloumi fries and crispy falafel £22; meat (chicken kabob and lamb kofte £26) or a mix of both for £32.

Opt for flatbreads (all wraps come with house pickled salad, muhammara and pomegranate molasses: Chicken kabob (chicken breast marinated in yoghurt, served with mango hot sauce £13); lamb kofte (British lamb, za’atar yoghurt and zhug £13); fried chicken (marinated chicken thigh, mango hot sauce, Aleppo chilli, £12); falafel (crispy falafel, maple tahini and pomegranate seeds £11); add halloumi to any wrap for £2.50. On Friday lunchtimes you’ll be able to choose from any flatbread and soft drink for £10.

When only a burger will do, the Sireli Cheeseburger comes with sumac, shallots, confit mayo, zhug and fries (£14). Kids aren’t forgotten, with chicken and chips on offer too (£8).

Sireli is open Wednesday to Thursdays from 4pm to 9.30pm, Friday to Saturdays 12pm to 9.30pm, and Sundays 12pm to 8.30pm.
