Unite claims that the workers are paid thousands of pounds less than others who work on the London Underground network in equivalent roles

Transport for London (TfL) enforcement officers will strike from tomorrow until Saturday (February 20th to 22nd).
Hundreds of staff within the Compliance, Policing, Operations and Security Directorate (CPOS) are expected to take part in the strike.
They are responsible for safety and security across the TfL network.
Unite the union says that due to their nature of the jobs they are subject to high amounts of verbal and physical abuse, as well as racism.
Reported incidents include being spat at, bottle attack, as well as staff being headbutted and punched.
Unite claims that the workers are paid thousands of pounds less than others who work on the London Underground network in equivalent roles.
Workers initially went on strike for the first over six days in December, after rejecting a TfL pay offer.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “TfL’s imposed pay offer is an insult to these workers, who play a vital role in keeping the public safe.
“They cannot keep being treated as second-class employees compared to their London Underground colleagues.
“TfL must come back with an acceptable offer, or these strikes will continue to escalate.”
A TfL spokesperson said: “We are disappointed that the Unite union has announced this strike action for members of our Compliance, Policing, Operations and Security Directorate.
“We have held constructive discussions and have presented a plan of how we can work together to address their concerns.
“This action only impacts those who work in enforcement roles, but we will have officers across the network during the planned action to support customers and staff.”
