From 5pm to 9pm tomorrow, visitors will be able to shop from the gallery store, tour exhibitions, and try food and drink from Deeney’s Cafe
The William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow will be open after hours on Thursday (21st November) for a special Winter Late event.
From 5pm to 9pm, visitors will be able to shop from the gallery store, view exhibitions, and try food and drink on offer.
The programme also includes a crafts session, where people can make a Victorian Yuletide pomander, as well as a gift bag using Morris wrapping paper. Activities suitable for kids aged five and above will be available from 5pm until 8pm.
Live music will be provided by Little Choir of Joy, part of the Waltham Forest Music Service, all while Deeney’s Cafe will be serving mulled wine and a variety of seasonal treats.
Meanwhile curators will lead tours of the William Morris & Art from the Islamic World exhibition from 6pm to 7pm. Alongside Morris’ own iconic designs, examples of Islamic textiles, ceramics, metalwork and manuscripts from Morris’s personal collection, the exhibition reveals the wider impacts of these objects, their designs and impressions on Morris’s creative output. It is running until Sunday 9th March.
Local food bank PL84U AL-SUFFA will be on the ground throughout the evening running a donation station. They are seeking tuna, chickpeas, tinned fruit, tinned tomatoes, oil, sugar, teabags, coffee, sardines, corned beef, pasta, and lentils/legumes.
