A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We treated an adult and child at the scene and took them both to the hospital.”

The severity of the incidents is not known.

The council notified the public in a post on X (previously known as Twitter) at 4.24 pm that said: “Old Church Road, E4 is currently closed in both directions due to a traffic collision.

“Emergency services are at the scene, please avoid the area if possible.”

It is not clear how many vehicles were involved in the collision.

However, just 15 minutes after the council’s initial post, another update was issued via X that said Old Church Road was fully open to traffic.
