Officer are looking for a man in connection with a total of ten reported sexual offences

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses after a series of sexual assaults have been reported in the Hackney Marshes area.
According to the Metropolitan Police, there have been a number of reports of sexual touching over clothing between March and August, with the last reported offence on 7th August.
They are seeking to speak to a man in connection with a total of ten reported sexual offences. It is alleged that the man has been targeting lone women, and was on an e-scooter at the time of each offence.
Detective Constable Lucy Dunwell based at Hackney said: “We recognise the concern this will cause amongst the local community. I understand that many who live, walk and run within this area will be fearful after hearing about these incidents and I assure you that we are working tirelessly to identify the man responsible.

“Our officers are working closely with Hackney Council to increase patrols in the area to provide reassurance and support. Anyone who visits the area is encouraged to keep their phone charged, remain aware of their surroundings and always call police in an emergency.
“We have issued images of a man that we would like to speak to in relation to this investigation. If you can help identify him then please call 101 or provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers. In an emergency always dial 999. Similarly, if you have witnessed or been a victim of sexual assault then please come forward so you can be supported and the matter can be investigated.”
