The public have been urged to take care while outside tomorrow as the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow and ice across Greater London.

The warning will kick in from 4am and end at 10am on Monday (8th January).

The Met Office has warned that icy patches and wintry showers may lead to potentially slower journeys.

The mercury is set to drop to a low of two degrees celsius tomorrow morning amid a spell of further cold weather expected to last until Thursday (11th January). On Wednesday (10th) a low of zero degrees celsius has been forecasted by the Met Office.

Waltham Forest Council will be gritting major roads and transport hubs amid the cold weather. These include steep hills, bus routes, shopping areas, railway stations, and high pedestrian use footways.

Anyone living on roads unserved by the council’s gritting team can make a gritting request here
