Haven’s House is to pick up real Christmas trees from addresses in Leytonstone, Walthamstow, and Chingford in exchange for a donation

Need to throw your Christmas tree out in the New Year? Look no further.
In exchange for a voluntary donation, Haven House children’s hospice in Woodford Green are picking up real Christmas trees from 13th January until onwards. All postcodes in Leytonstone, Walthamstow and Chingford will be covered. This year Haven House is seeking to raise £15,000 from donations from the pick-up effort.
Luckily for Leyton residents, the council’s collection services are recycling real Christmas trees of six feet or under on bin collection days.
Residents living in kerbside properties can leave their real trees next to a brown bin on collection day, while those in communal blocks must fill out a form on the council’s website in order to book a pick-up.
The council is advising anyone booking a Christmas tree recycling slot to include as much information as possible on the booking form to prevent the refuse collection crew from getting lost.
According to collection rules, all Christmas trees must not have any decorations or any other items mixed in with the tree such as a pot or stand.
