PC Luke Hunt was sacked without notice for ‘gross misconduct’
A Waltham Forest police officer has been sacked without notice for making racially discriminatory comments towards a fellow cop.
PC Luke Hunt, based within the North East Command Unit, which serves both Newham and Waltham Forest, was found to have committed gross misconduct at a hearing this week and he was immediately dismissed.
PC Luke Hunt made the comments when he was off-duty after a social event on 27th January 2022.

The chair of the 6th – 8th November misconduct hearing found that by making the comments PC Hunt had breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of “authority, respect and courtesy, discreditable conduct and equality and diversity”.
Chief superintendent Simon Crick of the North East Borough Command Unit said: “We expect all of our officers to uphold our high standards of behaviour, when they are both on and off-duty. We have also made it very clear that there is no place for racism in the Met.
“We do not accept conduct of this nature which undermines confidence in our organisation and so it is only right that PC Hunt has been dismissed.”
