The pair were reported missing on 13th April and police previously asked the public to call 999 immediately if they were spotted.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction and remains in police custody.

Local police tweeted: “They’re safe and their families have been informed. Thanks to those who shared our appeal.”

A previous version of this article described the appeal to find Alliyah and Lina and included their second names, which have now been removed.
