Pockets of paradise

Waltham Forest’s pockets of paradise by Charlotte Domanski

These photos celebrate the colourful pockets of paradise that flourish all over Waltham Forest thanks to its many green spaces and watercourses that make it a haven for wildlife. With the Marshes and Wetlands to the west, bursts of Epping Forest to the east and beautiful havens such as Lloyd Park in between, the borough teems with countless species of birds, insects and other wildlife. Take a camera out on a sunny day and everywhere you look you’ll find lush expanses of blue and green, colourful flowers – both wild and lovingly cultivated – and later, show-stopping sunsets over every horizon.
