Brenna Duncan’s photo series, for our Changes theme, looks at the seasonal changes she’s seen during a year of lockdown walks through Walthamstow Marshes and Lea Valley…
“Walthamstow Marshes and the Lea Valley canal have been my saviour over the past year. I love the wildness of the marshes and the open expanses, yet you can also get lost amongst the trees.
“I’ve escaped to them almost daily during lockdown and watched how the landscape has changed throughout the seasons. From those hot summer days to more recent frosty mornings, I’ve watched sunrises and sunsets, I’ve laughed and I’ve cried.
“Those marshes have seen almost every part of me. I even spent Christmas morning there watching the sun come up, since I couldn’t be at home in Newcastle with my family.”
