A new performing arts school is opening in Walthamstow, writes Marie Theo
The Leaders Community performing arts school is launching at Big Creative Academy this month
If you’ve been looking for fun ways to inspire your children and young people to keep fit and healthy and take an active role in the community, Leaders Community could have the answer.
We are a not-for-profit organisation based in Waltham Forest set up to deliver socially inclusive initiatives that support the health and wellbeing of children and young people, particularly those that are disadvantaged.
All our initiatives are designed to help children and young people get active, develop their talent, social skills, confidence, and academic achievements. We empower them to become positive leaders and role models, enabling them to gain new experiences, support their personal development, build character, and succeed in the future. Our programmes connect learners to caring adults through quality activities and mentoring.
Leaders Community continues to be recognised for its work with children and young people through various nominations and awards in the Waltham Forest Feel Good Sports Awards, Cultural Stars Awards, and more recently, the Love Your Borough Awards.
With thanks to funding received from the LVE Charitable Foundation based in Leyton, in partnership with The Big Creative Education, Leaders Community is pleased to announce that we will be running a free performing arts school for children and young people on Saturdays, starting 17th February. We will be providing free access to either singing with drama or singing with commercial street dance, at the Big Creative Academy in Clifton Avenue, Walthamstow.
Our instructors currently work with global brands such as MTV, ITV, X Factor, UEFA, Disney, The Brits, Sky, and leading music artists from around the world. So why not get involved? To qualify for a place you must be aged between seven and 18 years’ old and live in Waltham Forest or elsewhere in East London. We also offer commercial street dance sessions on Wednesdays in Higham Hill, or Fridays in Chingford.
