Following the success last summer of a series of outdoor film screenings in Leytonstone called ‘Hitchcock’s Home’, local film fanatic Dee Wood has organised another event, this time with a festive theme.
‘Hitchcock’s Home Does Christmas’ on Sunday 20th December will imagine what films the great director Alfred Hitchcock would want to watch at this time of year were he alive today.
Four films have been chosen and will be shown throughout the day, interspersed with “food, fun and festive frolics”.
Showing at The Mission Hall in Aylmer Road, Leytonstone, will be The Snowman and Father Christmas at lunchtime, The Muppet Christmas Carol in the late afternoon, and Gremlins in the evening. Tickets can be bought for just one film, or all three showing times.
Food and drink on offer will include toasties, mulled wine, pick ‘n’ mix, and popcorn, sourced from local suppliers.
Dee says: “As Hitchcock was a Leytonstone lad, I imaged what he would want to watch if he came home for Christmas this year. We can’t be sure, but I think he would love what we’ve chosen.
“This is one bit of festive fun that I don’t think you’ll won’t want to miss out on.”
