Waltham Forest’s LGBT community will be taking to Fellowship Square for the borough’s Pride today
Fellowship Square, in front of Waltham Forest Town Hall on Forest Road will host a Waltham Forest Pride party featuring talks from local speakers, food and refreshments, and live music and entertainment from queer bollywood dancers, drag acts, and a gay orchestra.
The free ticketed event runs from 12pm to 8pm today. Waltham Forest Pride will be held by the East London Out Project (ELOP), a holistic lesbian and gay centre that offers a range of social, emotional and support services to LGBT communities, and who’s core services include counselling and young people’s services.
This year’s Pride is supported by the Fellowship Square Arts and Culture Grant from the London Borough of Waltham Forest.
The event is part of the ‘Summer Starts Here at Fellowship Square’ programme of activities for people of all ages held by Waltham Forest Council. The six week programme includes arts and crafts, exhibitions, sports, performances, summer markets, martial arts, 3D modelling and printing, yoga, and dance taster sessions.
Food and drink options at the Square during the six week event include Delice, London Braai, Town Hall Cafe, Sheebakes, and Old Station Yard Cafe among others.
Tickets are available to reserve here.
