For this month’s photography theme, Pattern, photographer Andrew Shields captures subtle designs spotted around the borough…
I see a pattern
Over and over around
To me like a thumb

Standing out it blends
Twice and three times a fought-night
I try to get out
I made the mistake
Of attempting to ignore
I can’t help myself

Stacked on top maybe
Or laying there side by side
It runs, in its way
Where the daylight falls
And where it’s blocked from the ground
I spot those shadows

Same walks, same side roads
Yet each time there’s something new
Always seems to yield
It must be something
We all do as human beings
We see a pattern
