The hunt is on to find a ‘Waltham Forest Sustainable Hero’ for 2016.

ItDoesTheJob.com, a Leytonstone-based firm specialising in low-energy living, is launching this campaign to celebrate everything local people do to reduce their energy consumption and recycle.

As well larger projects, we want to showcase the small acts that make a big difference. So it doesn’t matter how small or how large your project is – tell us about it. You might be working on a community parking project, recycling food waste for composting, planning to re-use your Easter egg boxes, or simply using up those brown bananas to make a loaf. These are all sustainable activities and we want to hear about all of them!

Showcasing and sharing these inspirational ideas will help make sustainability the norm for everyone. It’s also very satisfying to make the most of what you’ve got, save money and have a positive environmental impact.

The deadline for entries is 31st May. The winner will be announced in June to coincide with the Waltham Forest Green Open Homes event. Winners will receive a certificate and a special prize.
