Jeanne Holland is again hosting outdoor film screenings to celebrate Leytonstone’s most famous son
Hitchcock’s Home, our very own celebration of local film icon Alfred Hitchcock, is back this July for the fourth year running at St John’s Church, Leytonstone.
This year’s event features Hitchcock’s ‘leading ladies’ with giant-sized screenings of Rebecca starring Joan Fontaine on Thursday 12th July and Notorious starring Ingrid Bergman on Friday 13th July.
Films start around sundown in the atmospheric setting of the cemetery, so remember to bring chairs and blankets and get there early to bag the best spots and take advantage of a whole feast of pre-film treats.
Doors open at 6.30pm, giving you plenty of time to enjoy delicious locally sourced food, cooked al fresco, a range of wines, beers, and special ‘Hitch’ cocktails, art, talks, and facts and special tours of St John’s Tower. Headphones can be pre-booked.
To help make this event possible we are in need of volunteers. If you would like to help out on the door, information points, seating areas, exit points, or clearing up afterwards, please get in touch.
